PHOTOS OF RAP’S “RESTAURANT MAKEOVER”

Rap’s Restaurant on the Eglinton Ave West strip, just east of Oakwood Ave, home of “authentic Jamaican dishes”, featuring its popular BBQ “Jerk Chicken”, turned thirty years old last year and fittingly went through a décor transformation to presumably face its next thirty years. The entire interior of the favoured late-night jerk chicken spot was gutted and redone with new flooring, fixtures, walls and decorations, offering more seating and effective use of spacespace. The work was done by the team of Chef Derek Minkensky and designer Paula Velez for an episode of the TV “Restaurant Takeover” (formerly known as “Restaurant Makeover”) and aired on The Food Network.
