RastaFest 2013 happens Saturday, August 24 at Downsview Park, Keele Street and Sheppard Avenue in Toronto with headliners Queen Ifrica, Everton Blender and Screwdriver and also featuring Tasha-T, Papa Levy, Dahlia, Jah Kettle, Janett Scott, Prince Everald, Empress Lyrics, Leta Montague and  CharDavid, the Trinity Drummers & The Majestic Warriors band.

Backing Bands:  Mountain Edge Band and the Hardcore Band.

The Flex Zone kicks things off at 1 to 5 pm with free workshops, African dance, drums, dub poetry and a youth talent show. The main concerts start at 6 pm.

Usually a free event, this year there is a modest admission fee of $5.

Accompanying the Festival is a RastaFest Visual Art Exhibition from August 1 to August 24 at Yorkwoods Public Library; as well as a free admission  “Tween Fest” youth talent show, with dance, songs and theatre, Thursday August 15, at the same location, from 6 to 8:30 pm.

Organizers are confident that their headliners can match the scintilating performance by The Mighty Diamonds last year.
